Live From Piedmont

Brioche stuffed with meat and cheese. Yum!!

Sharon and Chris have just embarked on their week long tour of Piedmont. Here is a note from Chris, along with a mouthwatering picture from lunch:

“I am having a negrone atop a balcony about 250 feet above a valley in Monforte d’Alba. The view is stunning. We leave in an hour for Cavallotto. Our visit to Roagna was sublime. The Paje vineyard is absolutely beautiful. His organic passion is visibly obvious relative to the surrounding vineyards. The wines, simply amazing. The ’99 Paje Barbaresco is stunning. It will arrive this fall. The ’09 barrel samples were insanely approachable and mineral driven. Wow. Piedmont is sleepy. I love it.”

A few more days of lounging around Piedmont and then off to VinItaly to find some new great wines.  There are worse ways to make a living.
